What are meta tags?
Meta tags are used in html page headers, and contain information about keywords and descriptions of the web page. This provides search engines with the information they require, enabling your site to be catalogued and searched.
What is Cascade Style Sheet (CSS)?
A new feature being added to HTML that gives both Web site developers and users more control over how pages are displayed. With CSS, designers and users can create style sheets that define how different elements, such as headers and links, appear. These style sheets can then be applied to any Web page.

What is a fair price for Web Design?
The average web designer quotes an estimate based on $60 - $125 per hour. The proposal you receive will be a guesstimate and you will more than likely end up paying more at the end of your design project than originally proposed. Mirror Design Solutions specializes in websites for businesses with a smaller budget. Our prices are very competitive and we quote all of our projects as a package flat fee so you know in advance what your project will cost you. All future maintenance is billed separately and is very competitive for professional services.
What is Included in the Price?
Make sure you ask the web designer what the proposed price covers. It should include the page layout, image and logo manipulation, transfer of your pages to your web host server and submission to the search engines and directories using the META tags the web designer formatted. In reality, it should cover your web site project beyond Internet launch! If a web designer quotes an hourly fee, remember that your final invoice might be higher than your initial quote, plus there might be hidden fees for search engine submission and other miscellaneous services. Search Engine submission is included in our set price and provides you with one year of submission services.
Who Submits My Web Site to the Search Engines?
This is a very important question since some web designers do not submit your web site once it is finished and online, or they might charge you an extra fee to provide this service just once. Your web site has to be manually submitted to the search engines. As web designers, our job is not just about building unique web sites for our clients and this is really only 50% of our job. Our efforts continue long after the launch of your web site. What if I change my mind about the design or features, or want to add more features?
A web site is very flexible. What you start with can change and evolve as you need or want. A web site is not like purchasing printed material where once it is printed you are stuck with it as it is. Your web site can change any time you want. You can change anything from the text content to the overall design, or add new feature to your existing site any time you choose. Keep your visitors interested in returning by keeping the information on your site current and changing the site to include new information.
How do I choose a domain name?
Your domain name can be what ever you choose as long as it is available for purchase. It is recommended that you try to match your business name to your domain name as closely as possible. Many people searching for your business on the web will try typing in www.yourbusinessname.com to find you before attempting a search. Domain names cannot be longer than 63 characters. Your domain name must be registered and an annual fee paid.
Can you guarantee top ranking on the Search Engines?
Guaranteeing a top ranking in the search engines is impossible. There are over 25 Billion web sites on the Internet and thousands more submitted every day. How will clients find my web site?
You do not want to rely solely on the search engines for getting traffic to your site. The search engines can take weeks even months to list your site unless you are willing to pay for submission. For your web site to get noticed and used, you need to have a marketing strategy. Make sure that your web site address is on all of your current marketing tools, such as your brochures, newsletters, business cards, e-mail correspondence, business letterhead, and other media advertising such as newspaper or radio.
